Magdalena Gigova is a journalist with over 30 years of active experience in printed and electronic media. She is a leading editor in the newspapers "Trud" and "Press", author of 14 books, including: "The bell of the pickpocket", "Magi from Magellan", "Whisper of old laces", "Sofia. The addresses of love".
Her masterful writing was acknowledged with the awards: "Bulgarian of the Year" in the "Traveling Writer" category at a ceremony in Vienna in 2011, " Lady of the Year" prize in the journalism category; three-time winner of the "Golden Lion" award for promoting Bulgarian traditions and culture; "Golden Rose" award from Zonta Club International, the journalism award of the "Hristo Botiyov" foundation, as well as a two-time nomination for the biggest literary award "Chernorizets Hrabar".
Magdalena Gigova is a member of the FIJET World Federation of Traveling Writers. She has visited 95 countries, and her friends joke that each of her travels turns into a fascinating story or book.
She shares the secrets of her skills of a journalist and writer with the students of the Free Faculty at Sofia University, in the specialty "Theory and Practice of the Press". She collaborates with the respected publications: Premium Lifestyle, Woman Today, Voyage, etc., and her works have also been recorded as audiobooks by Storytel. Currently, Maggie Gigova is the author and host of the radio show Invitation to Travel on the "Hristo Botev" program of the BNR and the TV show Dromomania on Code health TV.
